Our Beginnings
A small yet determined community of families took the initiative to create a foundation dedicated to supporting their children. The journey began when several parents of children with disabilities, including those affected by Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, and Club Foot, attended a disability education and awareness forum hosted by the physiotherapy department at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in Ghana.
During this forum, the parents found solidarity in their shared experiences, realizing they were not alone in their struggles, which had left them emotionally exhausted and resource-depleted. United in their mission, they vowed to challenge the societal stigma surrounding disabilities in Ghana, aiming to dispel the unjust scrutiny faced by those affected.
The Empower Challenged Children Foundation is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive community that empowers individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
